Ford Australia’s Freedom of Movement at Vivid

by

Last night the kids, hubby and I went to see VIVID in the city.

We went to Hickson Road Reserve at the Rocks,  and were greeted with lovely weather…Yes no rain. The temperature was rather balmy for winter, and we managed to find parking around the corner from where we wanted to be.

Also another marvelous turn of events was that there were not huge crowds. This might have had something to do with it being Wednesday and most VIVID viewers would rather come on the weekend with friends and family.

So what was the installation at The Rocks that we visited?

Well, Ford Australia has teamed up with VIVID this year for a stunning and interactive attraction.

It is called, “Freedom of Movement”.

“Drawing inspiration from Henry Ford’s vision: “to change the way the world moves” Freedom of Movement comes to life through a set of humble swings that combine the wonder of motion with the freedom to ‘Go Further’.

Not only can you ride on the swings, you can also watch a mesmerizing display that fuses colour, light, sound and motion – it’s great family fun, set against the perfect backdrop of both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.”

I was very lucky to be invited to go and check out this wonderful creation.

The kids had a fabulous time. Both my girls had a swing on the “Freedom of Movement”, and it was very surreal to have the Harbour Bridge in the background and the Opera House in front of you. It was a stunning view and experience.

VIVID ends on the 17th of June so you better get down to check out the lights while you can.

The “Freedom of Movement” is open from 6pm – 11pm.

You can find it at: Hickson Road Reserve, The Rocks, NSW.

We all did VIVID on a weekend last year and it was hard with all the crowds. I think this year it was much better. A midweek visit is best.   I knew that it would be a late night for all, and hoped that this tactic would pay off.  I was very lucky it did. So everyone if you can, go midweek. You will be happier for it.

Thanks so much to Ford Australia for the invitation to attend their lovely light installation at Vivid. It was amazing to see the “Freedom of Movement” up close and for the kids to experience it too.
