WaterWipes helping Premmie Babies + 2 Readers Can Win

by

Having a baby is a life-changing experience.

Imagine having a premmie baby? Or twins early?

Larissa with Jackson who was born at 27 weeks.

Larissa with Jackson who was born at 27 weeks.

When pregnant with the twins I was told that I might have them early.

My water broke at 33 weeks and eventually had the girls at 34 weeks and 2 days.

Due to the twins being 6 weeks early and nearly 7 weeks early due to twin A or now known as Julia they went straight into the NICU (Neo-Natal Intensive Care).  We stayed there for about 4 weeks from memory.

After the stay in the NICU, the babies and I were transferred to our local hospital to ensure that they put on more weight.

An early birth can be stressful for the mum, dad and of course your new little person/people.

WaterWipes has teamed up with Miracle Babies Foundation to support premature and sick newborns. “Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia’s leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them. Since 2005, Miracle Babies Foundation has been passionate in developing and providing vital programs and resources to support and enhance a family’s experience from a threatened pregnancy, hospital journey with a premature or sick newborn, the transition to home and beyond.”

“Each year in Australia around 27,000 babies are born prematurely.”

Larissa Lawrence and her partner found out they were expecting twins, however at just 25 weeks into Larissa’s pregnancy, one of the twin boys sadly passed away.
As you can imagine this would be an extremely difficult time for any parent.
While Larissa and her partner were dealing with the heartache of losing one of their boys, Larissa went into labour at 27 weeks and had his little brother, Jackson.

Jackson and Larissa spent 90 days in the NICU. While in hospital Larissa found that Jackson had very sensitive skin and WaterWipes was a great help.

“WaterWipes contain 99.9% water with just a drop of fruit extract so they are safe to use on a newborn baby. His rash went away almost immediately, and one year on we still only use WaterWipes and still have no rashes,” said Larissa.”

Premature births can also happen with a singleton pregnancy.

Having a premmie baby is daunting.  They are so tiny, need extra attention, maybe help to breathe and with feeding.

My girls were born and could not suck yet, therefore they had to have a feeding tube.

One was in a humidicrib due to being extremely jaundiced and the other was in the ward in a cot. Changing a super tiny nappy with gloves and in weird holes in the humidicrib was very difficult, but something I did learn to do.

I know that no one thinks they will ever have a premmie baby. I didn’t and actually never thought about it.

My son was born at 37 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and weighed 2100 grams. Totally unexpected due to the gestation however he had stopped growing some weeks prior. We did a 2 week SCU stay! Very lucky we are both here today!

I had the opposite of a premmie baby – a 4kg monster born right on time. He’s now 6kg at 6 weeks and a constant source of poops, milk regurgitation and dribbles… not to mention I still haven’t worked out how to stop the sprinkler system going off every time I undo a nappy 😉
Wet wipes are at a premium in our house accordingly. I like the Aldi ones, but find them hard to get out of the packet. The Coles ones are easy to get out of the packet but aren’t so wet as saturated. Would love to give Water Wipes a whirl: hopefully they’d be my goldilocks product.

We love water wipes. Our little boy was in hospital for the first 5 months of his life and he had major issues with nappy rash while we were there. Once we introduced water wipes everything started to clean up and it took away at least one issues the poor bugger was dealing with. We now use water wipes only with our bit and everything has been tip top down stairs for him!

At 30 weeks currently, I feel like I could go any day. I have such a different feeling to my son born two years ago. My midwife says I’m measuring at nearly 34 weeks, so it could be a prem baby for us! Fingers crossed our home extension is done in time to bring home baby to a clean and safe environment!

My son was born by emergency cesarean at 30 weeks weighing 1456gm. He spent seven long weeks in NICU and then special care nursery. For first time parents, it was very scary and not what we were expecting.

My beautiful sister in law had her first baby 6 weeks ago, 8 weeks early and weighing less than 1kg. She’s nearly doubled her birthweight now, but still has a way to go before they can take her home. I’d love to gift this prize to her.
I was lucky my three babies were born at 39+2 (induced), 41+5 (spontaneous) and 41+2 (spontaneous).

I was lucky to have 2 full term babies. I have a toddler and a 9 month old. A 3 month supply of Waterwipes would help me with sticky icky meal times and many dirty nappies.

Are these safe? Will they irritate my baby’s skin? Are they drying? Anxieties and questions plague a first-time mum. wipes that are 99.9% natural water – seems I can’t get this one wrong!

My three were all born at 37 weeks by induction for pre-eclampsia. My boys spent some time in special care to help them regulate their temperatures and for some help with their lungs. They both suffer now from sensitive skin and I tend to use face washers and water instead of wipes. I’d love to try these.

My twins were born at 25 weeks. My son weighed 750 grams while my daughter weighed 730 grams. My son unfortunately only lived for 6 hours while my daughter is going strong! A 3 months supply of water wipes would be amazing, I’d love to donate them to the NICU that cared for my twins.

Hi Mikaela, I am so sorry to hear about your son, and what little babies they were. I cannot imagine how hard this would have been. Thanks for your comment. Suzanne
